Lavender Hydrosol
Lavandula angustifolia, Munstead. This Lavender is near and dear to my heart. After 5+ years of killing Lavender plants on my balcony in the city, we finally became friends. Upon moving to the beach, I thought I’d try my hand at starting Lavender from seed. Thinking maybe this was a better way to understand her. For those of you that know, Lavender is very difficult to start from seed. I have tried every year since that first year and have had zero luck. But that first year, all the stars aligned and she popped excitedly out of the soil. I have nurtured her since and found the perfect home for her in my garden. And wow, is she happy! Each year she grows bigger and her blooms explode out from her silvery foliage. This year was quite exceptional and thought I’d share her with you in the form of this hydrosol. She’s beautifully soothing to skin and soul.
