Honoring the Turning of the Wheel & the Wisdom of the Ancestors

Date & Time: Saturday, Nov 1st, 3pm-5:30pm
Location: MotMot Garden in the back of Calgo Gardens
$49

Join us in the sacred stillness of the MotMot Garden as we gather to celebrate Samhain (pronounced Sow-in), the ancient Celtic festival marking Summer’s End. Celebrated for over 2,000 years, Samhain is a time of deep transition — a moment when the veil between worlds grows thin, and the boundary between the living and the spirit realm softens.

Nestled among the healing plants and whispering herbs, this gathering invites you to step into a space of reverence, remembrance, and ritual. As the final harvest gives way to the darkness of winter, we’ll honor the cycles of nature, reflect on the past year, and open ourselves to guidance for the months ahead.

During this ceremony and celebration, we will:

  • Learn the roots of Samhain — its rich history, sacred traditions, and how many of its practices live on in today’s Halloween customs

  • Participate in a guided fire ritual to release what no longer serves and make room for new intentions

  • Honor our ancestors and beloved dead through shared stories, offerings, and a communal altar in the garden

  • Craft herbal charms and seasonal offerings using plants associated with protection, remembrance, and spiritual clarity

  • Light candles and gather by the fire, inviting warmth, protection, and ancestral presence into our circle

Costumes, cloaks, and ancestral garb are welcome (but not necessary, please come how you feel most comfortable & layer up to stay warm) — as in ancient times, we dress to confuse and ward off wandering spirits, blending the sacred with the celebratory.

Whether you’re new to Samhain or returning to this sacred threshold once again, this ceremony offers a moment to pause, reflect, and connect — with the land, the season, and the unseen.

What to Bring:

  • A photo or memento of a loved one you wish to honor

  • A journal or notebook

  • An open heart and a sense of curiosity

Step into the liminal, and join us in a celebration where the old year ends, and the quiet mystery of winter begins. 🌒🌕🌘
